Junior Study Program

Profile: Study preparation for a music degree at a German music university

Goal Setting: Learning and developing artistic skills, music appreciation and stage experience

Target Group: Talented young students 14 years and older who go to school and live with their families in Hamburg or North Germany or are exchange students here in Germany

Basic Study Program

Profile: Preparation year for an artistic or an artistic-pedagogical study in a state or private music university in the Federal Republic of Germany

Goal Setting: Conveying the practical and theoretical knowledge and abilities to enable students to pass the entrance exams for a German music university

Target Group: Young Musicians with qualified preparatory training, who have at least a 12-year school period and/or a study up to a pre-diploma or can show another 2-year music college experience

Certificate: This program concludes with a certificate from the International College of Music Hamburg

Undergraduate

Grundstudium

Profile: Two-year undergraduate artistic study

Goal Setting: Music students who have completed the Basic Study Program at the International College of Music Hamburg or have shown equivalent appropriate conditions

Target Group: Music students who have completed the Basic Study Program at the International College of Music in Hamburg or have shown equivalent appropriate conditions

Certificate: This program concludes with a certificate from the International College of Music Hamburg

Postgraduate

Senior Study Program - Advanced Musicianship

Profile: Year of study abroad / graduate

Goal Setting: Conveying of further artistic skills, dealing with European teaching methods and understanding of works, sharing of experience in European cultural understanding

Target Group: Post-graduate students and professional musicians from artistic practical and educational music professions who want a refreshment of their knowledge and skills

Certificate: This program concludes with a certificate from the International College of Music Hamburg

ICoM & Kalaidos Master in Music Performance

In cooperation with Kalaidos Musikhochschule Zürich (Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences Switzerland – Department of Music), the International College of Music Hamburg (ICoM) is offering a state accredited degree “Master in Music Performance“ with an emphasis on classical music. Starting on October 1, 2022.

The Kalaidos Musikhochschule is an accredited and nationally recognized music college. Students will be enrolled at the Kalaidos Musikhochschule and the International College of Music.

The course is 4 semester long. ICoM will hold all classes in Hamburg, based on the concept of the Kalaidos Musikhochschule. The KMH will administer all required tests and grant the academic degree.

The necessary instruction, lectures and seminars for all major and minor subjects will be held in Hamburg at ICoM.

Certificate of Performance - Postgraduate Study

Profile: Two-year postgraduate program for the attainment of artistic maturity

Goal Setting: Providing practical and theoretical knowledge for pianists, instrumentalists and singers in artistic professions who need to develop literature to craft intellectually and stylistically appropriate aspects to bring to the performance

Target Group: Music students, working musicians and music educators who have completed a degree, or are already working to demonstrate at least a two-year foundation course at a foreign or German university

Certificate: This program concludes with a certificate from the International College of Music Hamburg

Concert examination - High Level Artistry

Profile: Two-year study program in preparation for an artistic profession leading up to stage level and maturity. This study should enable the preparation of a public concert evening and its realization. This program includes a Core Study Program (first study year) and an Advanced Study Program (second study year)

Goal Setting: Conveying of practical and theoretical knowledge, which pianists, instrumentalists and singers need in their artistic professions, in order to work out literary aspects

Target Group: Music students with a completed artistic Bachelor Study or a comparable education, professional musicians and teachers

Certificate: This program concludes with a certificate from the International College of Music Hamburg

Target group: Students currently in a bachelor college program for music that would like to spend a year in a Germany
