Dr. Silke Ralf

German Language and Conversation / Music Vocabulary (MDA)

 

Born in Flensburg, Dr. Ralf studied Japanese Language and Literature, Economics, and Musicology at Hamburg University. She continued her education at the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London as well as at the Shinjuku Nihongo Gakko and the Meijigakuin University in Tokyo. Dr. Ralf has also had choral and orchestral experience and works in the areas of directing as well as scenery and costume design at the Landestheater Schleswig-Holstein and the Hamburger Kammerspiele.

 

She has taught German at the Meijigakuin University and at the Japanese Consulate in Hamburg. Dr. Ralf was on the staff of the Institute for Economics and Languages and organized seminars, gave courses in German and Japanese, directed intercultural seminars for companies, and has been an adviser since October 2001 to the firm EAST (Euro-Asia Shipping and Trading GmbH) in clarifying specifically German affairs for Chinese companies. In 2002, Dr. Ralf published a practical guide, ‘Konnichi wa! Introduction to modern Japanese Language’.

 

She teaches at ICoM since 2003.
