Prof. John Lehman

Pop Song and Stage Performance

 

John Lehman was born in 1950 in West Virginia, in the USA. He received his musical training at the New York City Opera, the Metropolitan Opera and the University of North Carolina in singing, composition, orchestration and lyrics. Lehman has made his international reputation from his 35 years experiences as musical director and conductor, as a singing teacher and vocal coach, as theater practitioner with productions of musicals strongholds such as New York, Miami, Amsterdam and Hamburg.

 

He has worked with internationally renowned musical performers and actors. Many of his students have played leading roles in the Broadway, Los Angeles, in London’s West End, in Berlin, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Cologne and Vienna. Today John Lehman worked as a lecturer for pop, jazz and musical singing at Colleges of Music in Rostock and Lübeck, as Head of the Musical Academy of the National Youth Music School in Hamburg, at the University of Music and Theatre in Hamburg and since 2011 at the ICoM.
